Birth and family

Johannes Gensfleisch Zur Laden Zum Gutenberg was born in 1398 in Mainz, Germany. His dad was called Friele Zum Gensfleisch Zur Laden and his mum was elsgen Wirick. He had no children but he had a wife called Else Wirick Zum Gutenberg (after married). Johannes Gutenberg had 5 brothers and sisters.  He studied at the University Johannes Gutenberg Universität Mainz
 

Career and education

Johannes Gutenberg was German, his full name was: Johannes Gensfleisch Zur Laden Zum Gutenberg. His family was poor and not popular so he didn`t go to school. Gutenberg liked movable types since he was little. He was a student of chemistry on Phillips-university Marburg. He was in this university in: 1984 to 1989. When he grew up he started to be a metal-worker. He invented the printing press.

Invention and discovery

Johannes Gutenberg invented a printing press in 1440. It was a quicker way to print and write. The earliest dated printed book known is the “Diamond Sutra”, printed in China in 868 CE. However, it is suspected that book printing may have occurred long before this date. To do all of this he had to borrow money. It was used until the late 20^th century.

Death

Johannes Gutenberg died on 3 February, 1468 aged 70.He died in Mainz Germany. Johannes Gutenberg was born in 1398 and died in 1468.His full name was Johannes Gensfleisch Zur Laden Zum Gutenberg. The he found a modern way o printing books, whick allows for the dissemination and copy much faster from books and newspapers.
